On Wednesday 17 September, we’re holding a special general meeting (for SCANZ members only) to take the steps necessary to ensure we align with new legislation around incorporated societies that comes into effect early next year. In this meeting we will vote on the decision to re-register and also to adopt our new constitution.
We invite members to review the constitution and let us know about any questions you have or changes you’d like to see by Friday 5 September. There will not be a chance to discuss the constitution at the meeting itself, only to vote on its adoption.
Because we are proposing to change the organisation’s constitution at this meeting, we must have a quorum of 15% of our current membership present for the vote. We urge all members to have a say and help us make the changes needed to re-incorporate under the new regulations.
If you cannot make the meeting in person, you do have the option to vote by proxy, which means designating another SCANZ member to vote on your behalf at the meeting. In order to vote this way, you will need to fill out and sign a form and return it to us via email before noon on Monday 15 September.
If you need help finding a proxy voter, have any questions or suggestions regarding the new constitution, or need other support ahead of this meeting, please email us at hello@scanz.co.nz. We hope to see you there!
Please note this is members only event. The link to this event will be available here from 16 September and is also in emails sent to members about this event.
