Call for submissions for SCANZ Conference 2026
Regeneration: Building a science-informed future
We are now welcoming submissions for our 2026 conference. This year’s theme, Regeneration, invites us to explore creative, resilient and community-focussed approaches to science communication in a time of change. We encourage proposals that speak to this theme in any way - big or small - but all ideas are welcome.
We’d love to hear from everyone: experienced presenters, first-timers, practitioners, researchers, stduents and anyone working to make science more accessible in Aotearoa. like to encourage everyone to apply, whether you’re a seasoned presenter, or you’ve never presented before.
Presentation formats
15-20 minute talks
Workshops with participant engagement
Panel discussions with multiple speakers
Lightning talks (5-minutes)
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Please submit your proposal via the form on this page by the following deadlines:
Workshops and Panels: 31 March 2026
Talks (15-20min and Lightning): 14 April 2026
You will need to include:
A title + outline of the presentation content (100-200 words).
Which format(s) would suit your presentation (we will aim to give everyone their preferred format).
All the session participants and their professional affiliations.
Any additional info you’d like us to know (optional).
what happens next?
Applicants will be informed if their session proposal is successful within a week of submission close.
If you need an earlier decision due to funding or travel planning, please email us.
registration and cost
Please note we are unable to cover registration, travel or accommodation costs for accepted presenters.
Presenters who wish to attend more than their own session will need to register for the conference (registration opens shortly).
