Lightning talk submissions

We welcome lightning talk submissions relevant to this year’s theme: Inspiring Change.

Lightning talks are concise kōrero stories, either about work or a personal experience, that run for less than 5 minutes. They do not need slides, but if so then illustrative ones with more images than text are best.

You don't need to submit a fully fleshed out idea at this stage, just a theme, topic or story that you think is interesting enough to share with others.

You can submit a talk idea for any of these reasons:

  • You’re so excited about your work you’ve just GOT to share it,

  • You won’t be able to attend or get funding unless you present, or

  • Your talk will be an amazing conversation starter!

We’d particularly love (but it isn't a requisite) to hear stories about how science communication can help drive change in audiences' attitudes or behaviours, or about an experience that inspired change in the communicator.
